Amsoil or Royal Purple

Anyone use AMSOIL SAE 5W-30 100% Synthetic Motor Oil or Royal Purple?
Do you also use AMSOIL oil filters?
Or do you stick with OEM oil filters?

i use RP 5W30 with Mobil1 M108 filter...
I know many would disagree but i can feel the differnce with RP in the engine, its seems MUCH smoother, quieter and quicker than M1 oil.

Just my $0.02

I run Royal Purple 5w30 only and there is a smoothness that can be attributed to a quality synthetic.

I change the filter every 3,000 miles and the oil and filter every 6,000 miles in my car, using the RP 5w30. According to RP, they say it's no problem to run their synthetic at 12,000 mile intervals with only a filter change every 6,000 miles but screw it.

For real. Even at a 3 or 4k oil change interval, the oil is black and smells slightly burnt. No way I'd wait 12k miles for a change. For me, the type of driving I do is considered "severe," meaning a lot of stop and go in terms of driving. Severe conditions require more frequent changes.

To me, it's cheap insurance.

as i said, i change it every 6k with a filter change at every 3k and the oil is still in pretty good shape. I'm happy with how this schedule works for me. I do the same in my diesel truck with RP.

How much oil do you lose when you just change the filter w/o changing the oil? It gets messy, no?

not all the much really. a buddy of mine has a small but nice shop that does my oil, so I just swing through when I'm ready, takes just a couple minutes. I have an account there and run my company trucks and stuff through there as well so it works good for me. They started carrying Royal Purple on my demand for me to move my business there, now they sell the crap out of it.
