Quick question.

Has anyone had this problem.
Currently when hitting the gas very hard and then let off, im getting VCD and slip light coming on rev high and the cars get stuck in a gear. Maybe 2nd or 3rd until i pull over, stop and turn the car off then restart....


I sound like transmission issues which ALWAYS scared me with this car from the start!!!

Any input?

 

Take it to the dealer. It is most likely just one of your sensor and it goes in fail safe mode.

that happened to one of the loaners they gave me while they were fixing one of the rattles...it scared me because i was about 100 miles from home when it happened...granted it was my fault because i turned the traction control off and just romped it...i remember trying to shift into a gear and it wouldn't go past 1st gear...i pulled over and turned the car off for 5 minutes or so and it worked fine...but like tg said, it's probably a sensor...i will never do anything like that in my car

 

I heard somewhere it was to due with your brake fluids?

 

^ thats for only when the lights come on not anything to do with gear changes and such...

 

mines doint his with the abs light and no gear issue,, is a faulty speed/abs sensor... doubt thats it but maybe

 

Just to clear it. If VDC,slip and brake comes on most likely because the brake fluid is low most likely. Possible low due to the wear on the brakes they might need to be replaced.

VDC,slip/SES, ABS light on due to the faulty ABS sensor most likely.


VDC,Slip only what op has could be the cam shaft sensor most likely.

Mine started showing up after I replaced the tires last week. Could the guys at tire shop damage the sensors on the wheels? Maybe it is due to low brake fluid, but what a coincidence.

 

Hi everybody,

Last night I had the same issue with my G35, while I was driving between 40-60 km/h and hitting/releasing gas frequently:

1- first, the car was not responding quickly (as usual) when i was hitting gas .
2- then, the car stopped accelerating when i hit gas (nothing at all).
3- I changed gear to (DS) position (while the car on move) and it was fine (car respond to gas as usual).
4- I changed the gear to (N) position (still car on move) and stepped the gas to check the response, it was fine also.
5- I changed the gear back to (D) position, the VDC and ABS light went ON and the gas paddle wasn't responding at all.
6- I had to pull over and turn the car off then restart.

I tried the simulate the same condition again, but nothing came up.

Later i continued to drive around for another 3 hours with no issues everything was fine.

Anybody faced this issue before (gas puddle not responding)??????

It's getting me worried.

 

Damn you guys are freaking me out here, do you guys get any wobbling feel to the car at that 60km/h speed? (curious I have a different problem but may be related).

My problem has been solved. I added the brake fluid my car was in need of and the lights don't turn on anymore. To be honest, I don't understand the connection with the brake fluid and the VDC, Slip lights but it worked.

 

Hmm well I think because the VDC Control uses the brakes to slow the spinning wheels? Not sure on this, but I know the VDC system is linked to the brake system somehow. So maybe thats why if you have low Brake Fluid, it trips the sensors that way?? Just a thought. but now you know what to do if the light's come back on! Refill!!
