Motor Oil on Air Filter
I just got done cleaning my Air Filter(s), and I when I finished cleaning the passenger side filter using high pressure air, I noticed there was motor oil all over my hand. Is this normal? I was holding the filter with my palm facing the side of the filter that is facing the throttle body. I need your input GDrivers
I dont think its motor oil ....i think it might be some lube around the rubber edges of the filter....I havent changed mine out yet as I only got like 500 miles on mine, but I think I remember when I swapped out my stock paper filter in my 05 that it had some kinda grease on it.....
Is the "oil" on the filter itself or on the surrounding rubber? if its on the paper filter then theres something to worry about if not then I think its just the lube which is harmless

According to Mike at Riverside Infiniti the OEM Air Filters come pre-oiled. That explains why when I took out my filters to clean them while the motor was still warm the oil was exposed by using high pressure air to clean out the air filter.
