Towing a trailer with the 08' G35x

I know most of you will scoff at this, and believe me I'm not too thrilled with the idea either, but...I need to tow and I only own this car so...has anyone ever towed a trailer with the G35? I see threads on a trailer hitch, but they are using them for bikes, not a 700lb bike and a 400lb trailer. My owners manual says that Infiniti does not recommend towing a trailer (why not? Its the same basic unibody and engine as the Murano). So has anyone ever connected a trailer to thier 07-08 G35 sedan?

Hey BRN, welcome to the forum.
I hate to "scoff" at this, being your very first post and all, but you asked.

Why? Why throw a hitch on your G when you already know that Infiniti doesn't recommend it?
Okay, I'm done now.

I'd start by contacting Infiniti to find out exactly what the tow capacity would be. You stand a chance of overheating the transmission which can cause damage and being that you have an X, you stand a real chance of damaging the AWD system as well.
I think the short answer here is, don't do it! At the same time, we're only talking about 1,100 lbs. Would Infiniti not sell a G to a family of people weighing 300lbs each?

For more info than that, I'd ping Infiniti.

^What Aeson said.

Preserve your G as our cars are not made to tow, rent a 4x4 truck, and problem solved.

exactly what i was thinking, rent something if you need to tow (unless you're leasing and plan to return the car)
