Super Senesitive Car Alarm

Does anyone else have this problem?

Sometimes when I get in the car I bump the sterring wheel with my knee and it will set the car alarm off. Also, I keep the FOB in my pcket and sometimes when I lean against something I must accidently press the alarm button on the FOB and the alarm goes off. It seems to happen at least once a week. I can understand the key fob problem but I would like to reduce the sensitivity when I bump it getting in the car.

yes, there is an adjustment that can be made. this can also occur from closing the glove box a bit too firmly.

Sounds like an after market alarm system was installed ... incorrectly.
