Question about idiot lights

I had something wierd happen to me yesterday morning and again today. When I accelerated out of a parking lot I got my "Brake" warning light. I ahve gotten this before and posted about it and I think the general consensus was that the brake fluid was a little low due to the fact that i needed new brakes in the rear. Anyway yesterday and again today that light came on and after it had been on a few seconds the "Slip" and "VDC off" lights both came on and stayed on. They only went off when I pulled over and restarted the car. Is this normal? Does the ECU tell the car not to compensate for slip and shut the VDC off when it senses there are issues with the braking system?

I am at work now and dont have the manual with me. Plus I am sure that it will just tell me to go to the stealership.

Thanks for the help.
