Hey guys,

Ok recently my car's manual gear changes is a bit iffy.

The problem only happens when I use the stick to shift up, sometimes i have to shift it up twice or three times to get it to shift up.

The paddle shifts on the wheel work perfect and respond just as they use to.

My car is going into service on Saturday and it's done 42,222km so far. it hasn't been to the stealers since probably 28,000km

So what I'm asking is would you recommend anything in specific to be looked at that could cause the above symptoms? I'm guessing maybe transmission oil or something.

The contact switch for the "upshift" is probably bad and will be changed under warranty.

Ahh I see

Well I just got my car back from the stealers, they said "we can't find anything wrong" so far it's been ok it just got stuck once.

Ok so where exactly is the contact switch for the up shift? I mean is it a fuse? or is it an actual part on the up shift level itself?

Basically is this a part that I can replace myself?

i dont have the AT so havent looked but it should be an actual switch underneath the shifter console right where you push the lever too when shifting up.

If this happens with an AT pull out the center console (cup holders to the ashtray) and look at the shift you'll see a long gold rod on the drivers side the shape of an L I noticed they crack on our cars because I seen a few junked cars with this issue my dumbass self cracked it installing my momo ****

Well long story short they break from the cold and other reasons maybe a flaw in design but it'll still work just giving you a challenge shifting your AT push the Gold L rod in more and you'll be fine I was gonna glue it but I don't know if it'll seiz any moving parts

When mine snapped I couldn't pull the keys out its been since febuary and it shifts fine now getting stuck between P and R or R to D hope this helps

wow old thread.

Well put simply no I still have the problem but I guess I've just gotten used to it, my car is due for maintenance so I'll see if things improve after that.

Try VincenzG35's suggestion maybe it'll help.
