I didn't go through the black piece of rubber, I just lifted it up, put the wire under the black rubber, then pushed it back down over the wire. I have the extra wire under the lining of the trunk door, so I don't see it at all.

Did the cutouts for the nuts on the inside of the trunk lid line up well for you guys that installed the oem style spoiler?

I wasn't able to get the wire from the trunk lid through the black piece of rubber, so its just hanging on with some twist ties. WHAT A PAIN!

i also got the same looking oem spoiler from ebay, however the 3rd brake light wire was on the passanger side!

i just snaked the wire through the reinforcing metal in trunk right to pre-wire
used wire nuts to make connection & then used electrical tap over that.

the point is some spoiler come w/wire on driver side(bad because you will have to extend wire to reach pre-wire) on passager side good! the existing spoiler wire lenght is more than enought to reach pre-wire. then all is covered w/ins ide trunkcover.

p.s one other note:

their is already a wire in the trunck for attacment for a spoiler w/3rd brake light(its tape to a seperat wirE in the trunk lid. (TOWARD THE CAR IN THE LEFT CENTER)

in the diy the guy said he tapped into the actual brake light wire not neccessay!

and if any one else buys an oem syle spoiler which i recommend (a hel- of lot cheaper) ask which side the spoiler wire is located. you want it to be on the passanger side. you won,t have to tuck it into the rubber gasket or use twist ties you just snake it under the reinforcment trunk metal right into the existing infiniti pre-wire (its pre-wire just like the paddle shifters.)

you did a great job on your install!!

i set mine back about an inch/ inch 1/2 further to expose the chrome accent trunk piece. once again its just a matter of personal taste! thats the fun of doing mods & this site. seems like a lot of people here are eager to help each other! thats the way it should be.

peace KODG MAN.

I could be wrong but I would just check.
^+1..
It's not legal in most jurisdictions to have more than one upper (3rd) brake light.
