I have reverse lights from VLEDs (high power white) on my '04 coupe, and they're not as bright as stock... they look awesome, but they barely illuminate what is behind me.

can you be more specific as to what type you have? are they one LEDs...two LEDs...six LEDs....etc.

the ones i am looking at have 13 of the new SMT LEDs.

i am buying them more for added light than looks. & i don't want to spend $25 to have a dimmer..."prettier" light

I think those are either D2R or D2S... google sylvania bulb guide and then see what it says for '06

ok...so yours has 9 of the regular LEDs & is not as bright as the factory bulb. I wonder if the one I am looking at would be brighter. it has 13 (4 more) of the SMT LEDs.

how much brighter are the SMT LEDs than regular LEDs?

SMTs are supposedly brighter, but I personally haven't seen them.

Also, I think the reason the reverse lights are so bad in my coupe owes to the design of the bulb housing - the light points straight up and is only seen out of the back by virtue of a reflector inside the assembly.

i emailed V-LEDs and asked them how much brighter (more visible light) the one i was looking at buying makes compared to the one BlueDevilBAMF has. I will be sure to post whatever they say.

if they say it is a significant difference...i may give them a shot. considering the projection of light on the sedan may be better than on the coupe.

what do you guys think?
