Black grill/headlights with LED side markers

Hey guys,
I decided to pull apart a spare set of headlights and do something a little different. I did the black out treatment but I also installed hyper white 12V LED's in the location of the orange side reflector and wired them into the park light wiring. Everything fit and worked out pretty well.

since you wired the LED side markers into the park light wiring, the LED's are on when the car is running at all times right? Could you list the part numbers for the LED's, and other bulbs you replaced like the corner city light and the fog. thanks

The park lights are not on all the time, the steering wheel stalk switch has to be selected to have the park lights on or the headlights. The LED's are made by Varad and are an ILK106. I got them off Ebay from this guy

It's a stock grill I got for $100 bucks from a low mileage car. I just sanded down and repainted the replacment grill and put it in when I did the headlights.

where did you get a set of extra headlights from?

Id like to do the black out headlights but im afraid of cracking the lights when i take them apart.

Is it easy to take them apart? What method did you use to take the headlights apart?

I got them off Ebay. 1 was factory brand new for $400 bucks. The other was slightly used for $350. Prices included shipping. I put them in the oven for 9 munites at 200 degrees and then pulled them apart. You need a flat head to pull back the housing tabs and get the initial seperation and then you pull them apart. To put them back together you need to place the 2 halves into each other, back in the oven for 9 minutes again and then push them all the way back in once the sealant is soft and hot. The lenses are real tough, don't worry about cracking them too much.

how did you mount those LED's? it almost looks like there is enough space for a couple more LED's at the bottom...or is that just the angle of the picture? If there is space, do you think two more LED's would fit there?

I went with 4 because the edge of the projector housing almost buts up against the black housing on the inside of the headlight. I agree it would look better with 6 but there is not enough room. There is a curvature in the clear plastic over top of the reflector that has just enough room for the LED's to protrude through the plastic. I drilled mount holes and then got them just big enough that the LED bulbs pressed firmly onto the openings from the backside. It looks very clean. I used a press fit but if you wanted, a little dab of glue for security would work as well.

I stared at it for a while and im really starting to like it. At first it came off as a bit much, but then i realized that it only looks over the top because of the factory rims. Add some rims and that thing is poppin. Nite pics much appriciated. You should have put a set of Halos in there too.

i think if you replaced the orange turn signal bulb with a stealth bulb, it would finish the look without a doubt. check out www.stealthauto.com, they have 7440 turn signal bulbs that are almost clear when not in use, but will be amber when flicking. i just ordered some off ebay for $35
