SPORTS BUMPER vs. JOURNEY BUMPER

Back when I first started looking into purchasing my 2008 G35 Sedan, I knew that the sports model and the journey model had 2 different style front ends. However back then, I prefered the journey's bumper over the sports bumper.. but then after seeing more of the sports model on the road.. I have grown to liking the sports bumper more and more.

I do like the NISMO lip available for the journey.. so my option right now is to just purchase a lip or to look into buying a used sports bumper.

So I wanted to look into doing a front bumper swap for my journey. Can anyone confirm if the sports bumper would fit directly on to a journey model w/o any additional modification?

Thanks in advance for any input.

yes the sport bumper will fit onto the journey. just be sure you get the right model, that is with or without the technology package. The Cruise control sensor will not fit unless you get the right one. I myself have grown to love the sport bumper, i found one on ebay for like 600 shipped painted to match oem specs and everything.
good luck

one of the guys on the forum, this one or G35nyc, switched from journey to sport.... I bought the journey b/c i liked the bumper (looked more G35 ish if that makes any sense). But yea, sport bumper also look nice.... But if you have ICC you might have a problem, b/c even though they both have a cut out for it, i'm not sure if it's in the same spot for both bumpers...

I can confirm the centering distance between Journey and the Sport to the vehicle centerline are different (from the service manaul).

Would that mean it won't fit?

There will be a rectangluar sensor on the front of your car under the bumper. It is in the center opening toward the drivers side. That is the Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) sensor.

if you don't have ICC then you don't need to special order a sport front bumper with that inlet
