hahaha I thought about that too.. it would be quite funny if someone forgot and turned the car on to test out the bulbs! LOL

so on a serious note.. lol... its really not a "TRUE" requirement to do so? So long as you dont turn your car on?

I failed!!! in removing the intakes... which resulted in no new fog lights for my car! for now that is.

I was able to remove everything but one thing... By the intake connected to the engine, there is a smaller cylindrical hose which is connected with a clamp. I was unable to remove this clamp because I had no pliers or appropriate tools. I couldnt possibly do this free hand... and if I did manage to loosen it and remove it... how in the world am I gonna get it back on and tighten it? :S So I decided to abort...

so close!!! instead.. I end up with 2 blisters on my fingers.

Anyways, I attempted the other route.. through the wheel wells.. I turned my tires clockwise and peeled away the liner... only to realize.. that I have to remove the wheel to get to the fog lamps. I was pressed for time.. so I didnt continue anymore.

Another day I guess... but I will be doing it through the wheel wells next time. I should have better luck.

How did you guys manage to remove the clamp I was referring to? and what did u guys use to loosen it and tighten it?

okay I don't know what you are talking about. If you are talking about the part the hard plastic is overlapped by a rubber like plastic with metal clamp in place then do this. With a flat head loosen the screw until you can wiggle the metal piece around. Then simplely use your hands and push the rubber bit off the hard part of your intake. Then just pull the intake out. Really shouldn't be hard. First time I did this took me 20 mind because I had no instructions so I guessed. When I change my second type of fogs in. Took like 5 mine in total. I would show you pics but it's midterm time gotta study hope I helped.

i just my fogs two days ago. Dont understand why you can't get the clamp off the hose following the intake. Use a screwdriver! Took me 15minutes for both sides.

the flat head again you rotate one way to loosen, then rotate the other way to tighten again.

we are talkin about the same clamp right? not the huge silver looking clamp that is easily removed... but the smaller hose clamp beside the huge hose by the engine. Its clamped with a metallic "gun metal" clamp.

That is removed that way? putting the screwdriver through the hole and releasing/tightening that way?

If I understand you correct, that makes sense then. I guess I just lacked the "mechanical" know how to do it :S .... balllsssssssssssssss.... lol

Dont need to remove that. Take the screw out holding the intake down and the large clamp. Pull box out and rest it to the side using your elbow. You are NOT disconnecting everything.

LOL..... k, so my question now is.. can I just remove the airboxes... and not remove the entire intake.

Maybe thats easier.

remove it from the halfway point.

Yes.....Dont remove the WHOLE intake.. Just the part with the clamp where you can use the screwdriver.
