For those of you who installed HID kits on the fog lights

What's the best place to mount the ballasts?

Thanks!

I mounted mine right in front/sides of the intakes....between the intakes and the headlights there is a good bit of room that is nice and dry and great place for the ballasts

This is a d2s projector, you dont need kit. There is a mechanism that moves the beam up when you hit the brights. Its all within the projector housing. The same d2s bulb is used for the lows and the highs

I think he's asking how you are getting the fogs to stay on when you hit the high beams.

As for the ballasts I mounted mine under the front fender wells. There is a bit of room under the rubber covers.

I dont think there is a kit that will let you keep the fogs on while using the brights. With hid fogs and d2s there is so much light i dont see why you would need the highbeams....and even when you do use the highs, there is still plenty light in front of the vehicle without needing the fogs.

I have had no trouble with this mounting position.

I used the stock intake brackets. I just had to bend them some so my balast sat upright and clear of the other things around them. Works very well.

just make sure that they are not touching anything as they do get very hot when they are on. That is why i placed them on top so they are out of touch.

Check with kptechnologies.com they might have something that will allow the fogs to stay on along with the high beam.
