Headlight...dealarship

Alright so just need to know if there is anything i can do about this situation. About3 or 4 months ago when i had no idea of how to install hids or anything i took my infiniti to my friend who said he woudl be able to install them. in the o8 g35. so finally he had installed them but on the driver side he actually broke the right side little stick piece that holds the bulb in place with the holders.this piece is what keeps the holders for the d2s hid bulb coming out. i thought its no big deal because the bulb does light. so eventuallly i realized at night the beam on the left bulb has 3 indents in it and its becaus ethe bulb doesnt sit in place so the beam pattern is off. i tried taking it to infiniti and basically said there is something wrong with my lights not sure as to what.theylooked into it and they said we cannot replace your light because it will cost us over 1000.00 and its not a factory defect. So.... do i have any options of getting tha tfixed instead of just using some sort of tape or something to keep it in place. i dont wan2 buy a new headlight eiehter.

Wow, tough read.
Were you expecting the dealership to pay for the part your friend broke?

Watch eBay or try a junk yard. Those lights aren't cheap!

your friend messed up your headlights installing different HID bulbs? ....uuhhhhhm....you do know your car comes with HID's stock...so unless your friend was installing a whole new HID system with new ballasts...i dunno how your friend coulda F'ed this one up...infiniti can't help you out on this one...especially if you took the car to them with your bulbs installed

you can find a single headlight on eBay for around 300 bucks...good luck

Well no i know all about hids and how to install them in our cars now as you can see my car lights now in the 3k post i know all about hids now but he was putting in the d2s bulbs. i guess the clip he said was flimsy and broke. this was before when i new nothign of how to put htem in or install so i gave it to him. and when i wen2 the dealership i didnt have the installed bulbs in i had him take it out before iw ent. the only reason its my issue now is that im getting annoyed at my beam pattern where its fodged up.

it is less then 1k. Check riverside infiniti. You need the ssy I think it is about 600-700. Not sure.

Take this as a lesson Don't give your car to anybody to fix it.Your friend is probably one of those armchair mechanics.
If you build a good relationship with your dealer and when you take your car in for service they probably would of do it for yo. Maybe for free.

Do not expect your delear to fix it for you.
