Seat height mod?

I'd love to gain a little extra head room for the track helmet.

On the first gen, there was a mod to adjust the stroke on the seat adjuster to get it lower.

Just wondered if anyone has looked into it for the 2nd gen????

I looked, and got excited when I saw the 1gen mod cause I like sitting lower to the floor than the lowest point the seat currently goes. I looked under the seat, but didnt look to me like similar would work with our gen. But I'd like to see if anyone did figure this out too..

I'll be pulling my seats out in a few weeks, so I'll investigate further at that time.

...just thought if someone has already 'been there, done that', it would save some agro.

Yeah, I saw that 1st gen mod and got really really excited. The sunroof cuts out a lot of headroom and the sport seats do not go anywhere near as low as the base seats. In any case, the seats did not look similar under there but to be honest, it is hard to get a good look--I was mainly using my hand to feel around.

Hey, InTgr8r, if anyone can pull a magic mod out of this, it's you!!!

I'd like the seat lower even without considering the helmet.

With the gen 1 I only found a very small difference with the seat mod. Maybe 1/4"

lol... you're just too used to that sexy red coupe seating

...the sedan definitely sits a little higher.

The other gen 1 mod was too swap coupe seats into the sedan.
I wonder if that would work for gen 2?

Even if you could swap out the coupe seats to our sedans do you think it would even be worth the difference? It sounds like a lot of work and money for such a minimal change.

Re: base seats. All I know is when I got a loaner, it was a stock base automatic. The seats were not as comfy as my sport seats but they could go at least an inch lower. If I recall, they were completely manual or maybe only front/back-up/down. I had so much head room!

ahhhh manual controls, that's the reason!
It's not unusual for power seat controls to eat up extra room under there.

....I'm not giving up yet, though

I had a loaner '09 non-s sedan loaner once. The seats went about an inch lower as mentioned previously but were powered. I attributed this to the lack of motors/actuators for the bolster adjustments the S seats have that the non-s did not. I really liked the non-S loweredness but lacked latteral support. I'd probably give up the latteral support for the loweredness but they dont look as kewl either. I wouldnt trade them out since I am use to the delivery truck feel by now (The X monster truck stature doesn't help here either ). But if there is a simple trick to drop a bit I'm all over it. I dont have much hope since you guys havnt thought of one yet tho, but keep us in the loop!
