So what's the best way to deal with paint chips that go all the way to the metal? I was driving on the freeway and a small nail got stuck on the corner of my tire and scraped up my fender (See pics below). Touchup paint? If I leave it as it is, would it eventually rust?

Thanks in advance!!!

i would definitely put some OEM touchup paint on it and follow it with the clear coat(which i THINK is included in the OEM touchup pen) to avoid any further chipping and rusting issues.

Whats the best way to apply touch up paint? From past experience, touch up paint always looked blotchy and never blended well.

Apply the touch up paint, wet sand a little, then repeat that about 4-5 times. Next thing you have to do is polish it and finally you wax.

Eek!! Not sure if I have the courage to wetsand. Never tried anything like that before. Maybe I'll just get the touch up paint and have a shop apply it.

There's a great touchup thread in the Detailing section.

Thanks for the link. Something like that, I would rather pay a shop to do for me. I could probably learn and do it myself, but I'm sure it wouldn't come out as good as oppose to someone who does that for a living.
