Steering wheel scratch repair
Steering wheel scratch repair
I have a G35X I just purchased that has the scratches on the steering wheel and door pull, characteristic of many 07's. Since I have 65K miles and it is out of bumper to bumper warranty, the dealer will not replace the steering wheel, and replacement by purchase is cost-prohibitive. I can replace the door pull, but wondered if anyone had had any luck repairing or painting the steering wheel? I will be installing paddle shifters soon, and it looks to me that there might be a possibility of disassembling that the bezel that surrounds the air bag center that houses the switches, and either paint it or cover it with DI-NOC carbon fiber applique'. Is it possible to take the switches out of the bezel?
Or are there any suggestions for repairing this?

Someone had this problem too. For the door pulls you always going to have problems with it. So what i did is i took them all off, sanded it down, took it to the paint shop and had them pained the same color as the car. It looks a lot better.
I found it, not too far away on that page. I have attach 2 pix of the interior. Maybe you might want to do this if you like. Just an idea for you.

Yes, the switches are screwed into the bezel so they pop right out.
I also have a brand new (never used) OEM steering wheel for sale too.
