hi can anyone tell me what the on and off switch is for in the glove compartment of my 2007 g35x

It's a on/off switch for the remote trunk opener button.

^+1 what he said, of you turn it off then the button will not open the trunk form the outside, its purpose is supposed to be to protect from valets since you can turn that off and lock the glove box.
