Removing stock HIDS
Can anyone help me out here? I am in the process of replacing my fogs and OEM HIDS with 5k. How the **** do you get the stock housing out? I saw somewhere that said you push the two metal rings together and pull out.. I tried that for 2 hours and it wouldn't budge.. I don't want to break it! I don't understand what I am doing wrong.. Please HELP!

ok so getting the clips out was easy now that you told me that.. but, getting them back in is extremely hard. I broke 1 of the clips on each side getting them back in. I dont think It matters because they are secured with the other one just fine. But I went for my first drive tonight and I put the HIDS in upside down.. Im an idiot.. So all the light is directly in front of the car and the only usable light is from the fogs.. I guess I will have to fix it tomorrow and hope I dont break the other two clips...

Thank you, but its not the metal tabs that broke its the plastic pieces that they slide into that snapped.. And I think the reason that happened was because the bulbs are upside down and they clip is only meant to go around them one way. I cant believe I did that.. I really hope the pattern is ok with just one clip holding them in once I flip them over tomorrow.. Other wise I will need two new projectors.. tsx I guess ... UGGGGGG this blows

I got it done tonight.. Cut off looks perfect, now that the bulb are in correctly, the 1 clip is not enough and the bulb would jiggle. So I put some dense foam on the back of the circular covers which push against the back of the bulb holders and keep them in place very well. It will have to do until I do my quad retro this summer.. I guess I will either get new clips or whole new projectors then...

so all the HIDS work fine, but, when I first turn on my lights, when they are all warming up, the look nice and crisp white.. but, when they warm up they all get duller and turn more of a 4300 or even 4000k color... except for the passenger side headlight which stays more of a brilliant white.. anyone know why that would happen?

not sure why. you should have gone with 6000k IMO. i had 8000k which looks like the range rover blue which i love but being able too see at night is tough. 6000k is perfect because they are blue'ish white...with no dullness or yellowness to it and at the same time you don't lose any visability.
