How to get autox rear diffuser to stay on?
I had the autox kit rear diffuser for a couple years now, and it comes with the 3M doulble sided tape to attach to the lower bumper. But in different places it was peeling back, so I got some industrial 3M tape and put that on, it held up a little better but now my cars in storage and i looked at it the other day it is is also starting to peel back.
any tips or other solutions for this problem that anyone on here has?
im thinking of maybe having it "bondoed" to the back bumper but then that means that the rear would need to be resprayed, and may be expensive.
any other ways to get around this?

Had the same problem.
Fixed it by doing the following:
1. Cleaned the surface thoroughly (wash, isopropyl alcohol, wash, claybar)
2. Peel a little bit of the double sided tape (expose only half) and pull the covering tape over the diffuser to the outside.
3. Put the diffuser on. Move it around till it's perfect. Press the exposed tape to the bumper and pull the rest of the covering tape. Press the rest of the double sided tape down unto the bumper.
4. Then I used a hair dryer to slowly heat up along where the tape is. Press down HARD as you heat it up. I spent about 20min on this part.
5. Finally put all of the plastic tabs and screws on.

Make sure that the surface is clean and dry with no residue (I use Cleansolve) and also make sure to use the 3M adhesive activator before installing. The 3M activator is available in small packages with foam application pad... you will only need one or two of these for the rear difusser. I've installed all of my body work (front lip, roof spoiler, AutoKits X rear spoiler, and AutoKitsX rear diffuser) with the method and have never had any of the parts lift or peal.

You'll definitely want to remove all of the old 3M tape and replace it with new 3M tape once you remove the diffusser. Make sure you use 3M automotive tape. If you use another brand or any other 3M (other than automotive grade tape) the UV light will get to it and it will eventually start to lose its adhesion.

hey guys a year later.
im still having a super big issue with it staying on.
i used a clean surface.. 3m and got it to hold for about 6 months.
lastly i used adhesive cement. it stayed on for a couple days.
i mean it stays on strong doesnt fly off or anything but the edges peel and seperate and you can tell its been glued or taped. :/
i am out of ideas. any new suggestions???
thanks!
