Projector modifications

What size is the Projector lens, and which clear lens is the favourite among you? Is tuning necessary?

Has anybody tried painting the cutoff shield?

perfect! I am looking into it for a friend. I have heard the screws holding the lens are PITAs. has there been any development here, or easier ways to get the screws off?

The screws holding the lens are definitely very difficult to take off. Use a good screw driver. I had to put down just enough body weight on the screw driver so I don't ruin the screw.

There might have been red or blue thread lock there (don't remember now). I wonder if a thread lock remover or PB blaster may help.

Not sure what the purpose of painting the cutoff shield is. I do remember reading a post that there's a secondary shield that can be removed to get a sharper cutoff.

OK, thanks. I probably wont attempt using any solvents/liquids on the projector. I can probably manage a screwdriver.

Painting the cutoff shield gives a nice effect, gives the lights some colour when off. I havent seen it on any Gs or Zs though :S
