Exclamation Headlight Lense Differences

Hey all,

I have adaptive headlights on my 07 G35 sedan, and the lenses are super foggy and disgusting and no buffing will help them (neither myself or professional shops can buff out fogginess). I really don't want to purchase brand new adaptive headlights (~$1,521 PER headlight, which is absurd.

I bought headlights from a salvage yard that were in beautiful condition for relatively cheap, but they sent me the non-adaptive headlights. If they can't send me the adaptive ones, I had a thought to instead just swap the lenses from the non-adaptive to the headlights that I have currently installed on my car. It's actually quite easy to use a heat gun to make it possible to pry off the lens.

Does anyone know if there is a difference between the non-adaptive and adaptive headlight LENS? If not, i'm just going to swap the lenses and call it good.

Thanks!!!

AFAIK there is no difference. The oven makes this easier (220* for 10 Mins) versus a heat gun which could have hot spots.
