Re: TWIN TURBO ???

The Dream Works Racing SST Aqua Cooled Super Charger System for the 350Z / G35 / FX-35.

* Eaton 90 Roots type Supercharger
* Power output of approximately 400 hp at the crank shaft
* Dual water to air intercoolers
* Dual Auxiliary injectors
* Stainless steel braded fuel hoses
* High volume fuel rails
* Full length intake runners
* Off throttle bypass
* ECU Upgrade
* No hood or body modifications
* Construction is of lightweight cast aluminum
* Dream Works SST systems have a 3 year / 36,000 mile limited power-train warranty (warranty serviced by authorized Dream Works / Nissan / Infiniti Dealers.
* 50 State emissions legal with standard Boost
* Boost capabilities up to 12 PSI with internal engine modifications.

Basicly, We like how this super charger is designed, it comes 50 state legal and has its own fuel mangement system.

1. Status of being Carb Legal: He claims this is what is holding up the release. They want to release it being CARB legal with warranty, in othewords, a total package. He said thet feel they will get it within 45 days thus expecting to release the SC kit in 45 days.

2. How did you estimate the 400hp at crank? He said they purchased their own Z, tested it at 5.5 lbs boost and that is what it put out. I did not ask him how they converted it from rwhp to crank hp. He said at this point, they are going for 5.5 lbs boost but it is not set in stone and that is why they are "fuzzy" on hp claims. They are hoping for more than 400hp upon rleease but not sure if it will be more or not. He promised dyno posts once they got it were they plan to produce it at (Boost).

3. Who is actually backing the engine with a warranty, you, Nissan, or a 3rd party? The company that will insure the "drivetrain" is called Del Financial. Yes, he said drivetrain, not motor and it is based on you keeping the boost set at their specs.

4. Some other SC'ers being released might be having some issues related to tuning and lean conditions at high rpm thus detonation. What is different about your system that would prevent this from occuring? DW's SC has an ECU upgrade, dual aux. injectors etc, we are making sure their is enough fuel delivery and proper tuning at all rpm ranges.

5. I have heard of compamies like Vortec but not DW. Give me a brief history of who you are: We use to just build race cars but have branched into this market. We are only specializing in the 350Z and Spec SER Sentra right now. Oue attitude is to enter a small market, do a great job on releasing a product done correctly and build from there.

6. Does your SC allow for the strut to be kept? Good question. I know it was on at one point, off another. I am not sure. I will have to get back to you on if we were able to keep it on. I do know the factory hood is a keeper.

7. He said this kit would be able to be run on a track like I want to do without fear of damage to the motor. He said basically, it can go to rev limits just like the stock motor. The only thing he stressed is any motor, stock or FI, that is tracked, cannot withstand downshifting into 2nd gear instead of 4th thus exceeding redline. He said that upshifting would be safe just because the rev limiter would cut it off but the real abuse could be downshifitng and popping it into too low a gear thus causing engine damage.

about warranty:

If you use the SC/motor within normal limits on track/street being not over reving then it is covered. If you change the boost, components of the system including changing ECU flash then the warranty is not honored.

Basically, much like a stock Nissan, if you change the ECU rev limits, then over rev it, Nissan would not pay for it thus if you change the DW kit in ways that effect the design/performnce of it, it is not covered. I cannot be specific in every type of situation people might think up because lets face it, we are not always 100% sure when Nissan covers things on warranty (ie tire feathering & Bose) thus I can only give general examples of the DW warranty for the drivetrain. I hope this example gives you the idea of type of situations that might be covered and ones that would not be covered. Again, this is my explanation of what he told me. I hope i got it right in describing it to you.

Re: TWIN TURBO ???

MSRP: $6200 but expect the price to be around $5000 when it comes out.

best of all, the warranty will be honored by infiniti (the supercharger and the drivetrain)
