StopTech Big Brake Kit
Has anyone put the upgraded big brake kit from Stop Tech on their G? Thoughts about it?
The Brembos are very nice, but these 14" discs all around look like they will really haul it down hard at speed.

You do realize that big brakes will not make you stop faster than the stock brakes. What you get with big brakes is better cooling, so they don't heat up and fade in seriously aggressive driving (read: track racing). You get consistent stops from lap 1 to lap 50, where the stock brakes would overheat and lose braking capacity after several laps. In fact, if you're not careful and get big brakes that require bigger rims, and the whole package winds up weighing more than the stock brakes and rims, you could increase your braking distance.
Better tires will help your car brake shorter.

Re: StopTech Big Brake Kit
Absolutely understood, and very good point made.
I am going up to Laguna Seca right after they are installed.
Also putting on 19" wheels and new rubber, with 245/35 in front and 275/35 in the rear, bigger patches on the road and stiffer sidewalls. Combined with the ability of the slotted (not drilled) bigger rotors to absorb and transfer heat, I am hoping that this will provide better stopping power consistently through repeated braking demands.
