I am very sad to report a tragic loss of one of our fellow G35Drivers. Frank Steeves (G35Spot) was killed in an accident last night as he lost control of his G in the rain wrapping it into a pole, here in So Cal. It's funny how prescious life is. I was actually on the phone with my mom this morning listening to my sister give birth to her third son when I got a call on the other line from Gurgen informing me of Frank's passing. It's unfortunate how the lord givith then taketh away. The irony of it is I was just at a funraiser party last night for the family of another friend that had recently passed. I never really got to know Frank Steeves very well, I have only met him at this past Dec. 27th meet. I have to admit, with my first impression he seemed like one of those big tough guys who knew everything. Much to my surprise he was a big tough guy who knew everything, but not as I had assumed. He definitely did a lot of homework and research on the G. And if you've had the chance to see him there's no question he's a big and tough guy, "I may be krazy, but I'm not stupid to mess with a guy of his stature", but he didn't carry the attitude. He was one of us, loved his car and enthused to share, learn and have fun with the rest of us alike. I wanted to take this opportunity to wish his family, friends and loved ones the best. And also let them know my prayers will be with them.

Wow, I am in shock right now. I met Frank at the Dec. 27th meet as well. He was a very good, well-rounded guy. It is just not fair! My condolences go out to his wife, family, and friends.

 

The only picture I could find of him... He's standing directly behind the red Coupe, blue shirt and shorts.

Kawika, did you manage to try and find the article? It is posted on LA Times but I can't log-in. The headline states "1 Killed, 1 Injured." Was his wife in the car with him?

 

My condolences to his family. I also met Frank in the Dec. meet and went on the cruise with him and five others. Frank was a cool guy. We'll miss him.

1 Killed, 1 Injured in Single-Car Crash

A man was killed and another injured Saturday when their car struck a traffic light post at Laguna Canyon Road and Alton Parkway, police said.

Driver Frank Thomas Steeves, 35, of Ladera Ranch lost control of the sedan, police said. After firefighters freed him from the crumpled car, he was taken to Irvine Medical Center, where he died.

Passenger Joseph Yang, 22, of Irvine suffered minor to moderate injuries and was treated at the same hospital, police said.

I never knew or met Frank, but wanted too offer my deepest condolensces too his family & loved ones. As a member of this forum he was like family too us all and will be sorely missed.

 

Oh how I feel for his family, for him to be taken from them at such a young age. How very sad this must be for all those that called by his first name. Great sympothy from me to his loved one's, my pray's are with you in your time of need.

I never knew Frank, but I have seen his username on many posts. A very tragic loss. It just goes to show you how life is so unfair, and how short it really can be. My thoughts are with his family.
