Hawaii: Possible exhaust groupbuy

hi everyone,

i'm currently consulting with gruppe-s and performance nissan into getting a groupbuy going for either the fujitsubo (from gruppe-s) or the nismo (from performance nissan). these systems will be a complete cat-back meaning the y-pipe will be included. for the nismo, the extension pipe we need will also be included. so far, for 5 people, the total shipped price for the fujitsubo will be $1359. of course with more people, the price may go down. the nismo will be less expensive at around $1100 shipped for 3 people. if anyone is interested, please let me know. thanks!

ps-it will have to be shipped to one address, so maybe we could ask infiniti (??????)

that sure is a lot of money!! imho, i don't think it's really worth it unless you're serious about auto x-ing or just want the bragging rights that you got a "titanium" exhaust. don't really know how they sound though, i don't think titanium resonates quite like steel does.

RSR? i haven't seen that one yet. any links? does that include the y-pipe and mid-pipe as well? RSR wasn't so good before simply because it was not made for US gas. the piping/muffler would erode much quicker than other exhausts.....same with 5Zigen. i don't know if that's the case now though.

Re: Hawaii: Possible exhaust groupbuy

well, from Jason at performance nissan, he says he could get the exhausts for $850 with 3 people. i don't think there's enough interest so we i may have to tell him to cancel. is there anybody here interested at all? there's no set date or anything, i just wanted to see what the interested would be like.

also, the shipping would be significantly cheaper if we could mail it to a single, corporate address (hint, hint). i think brandon at gruppe-s is pretty much staying at the $1300+ mark for the fujitsubo. hey drew, i'll ask him what he could do with the titanium ones. i don't think it'll be much better, shipping wise.

oh, and jason assures me that the nismo is made in japan. for some reason, brandon says that the nismo is made in america (by borla, aarrrggghhhh!!). i know the nismo in japan is made by fujitsubo, but nismo and borla?!? hmmmmm.............

well, groupbuy aside, the exhausts boxes are big enough to fit other stuff inside (like RT cats, springs, small stuff mostly), so we could always see how that will work.

Re: Hawaii: Possible exhaust groupbuy

Which exhaust is Jason saying he can get for $850? I was thinking about the Injen Super SES...any reason why I wouldn't want to go with it. It looks great and from what I'm told sounds great and claims about 10-14 ponies to the rear wheels.

2 G or NOT 2 G, there is no question!

Re: Hawaii: Possible exhaust groupbuy

the exhaust jason is able to get is the Nismo. 10-14 ponies is a little on the "optimistic side." our most restrictive element is the y-pipe, not the exhaust as a whole. but i've had a bad experience with injen, so i wouldn't buy one. also, if you do a search, the gains are very minimal, about 2HP. plus it's an injen, it's not nismo! to those that find it important, name could count. there isn't quite the sound that the fujitsubo or nismo have, that's imho anyway.

Well, you may have changed my mind on this. I'll look into the Nismo.

Re: Hawaii: Possible exhaust groupbuy

I am very interested in the fujitsubo, BUT no money no honey. If I have no $$$ why am I even posting this? So, just in case there is some honey who wants to give me some money.

Seriously, I would go with the Fujitsubo more so than the Nismo, but see above.
