Re: Hawaii: Possible exhaust groupbuy

jay, why the fujitsubo more so than the nismo? doesn't fujitsubo make nismo anyway? and from performance nissan, it's about $200 cheaper than the fujitsubo (incl. y-pipe) from gruppe-s. hmmmm......

I believe the Nismo has smaller tips and someone told me that there is a difference between the Nismo made in america versus the one in japan. I just remember someone saying that so don't quote me on it. but I do know that I like the bigger exhaust tips of the Fujitsubo.

Re: Hawaii: Possible exhaust groupbuy

Not to add fuel to the fire, but I just talked to stillen.com (I ordered a set of main and lower valence grilles).

I asked about the stillen cat back exhaust which is supposed to be pretty good, not too loud, supposedly the best hp gain and the best tips.

For the large dual wall tips cat back exhaust system, it sells for $1216 and they will ship it to Hawaii via DHL for $180 2-3 day delivery! The price for that exhaust is pretty good and the shipping is the cheapest among all other vendors that I've found.

If interested, call stillen.com directly so they can quote you the $180 DHL shipping. UPS 2 day delivery to Hawaii was originally listed for $114 for the main grille and 2 lower valence grilles on the website. I called them and asked them if they had alternative shipping means and DHL was only $45 2 day delivery. Ships out on monday, should get here by wed/thurs!

Next project after grilles will be exhaust... I will probably go with Stillen....I did look at the Fujitsubo but heard good things about the Stillen cat back exhaust...main thing not being too loud. Don't want to sound like a rice rocket......

i've heard from brandon at gruppe-s that the nismo in japan is made by fujitsubo, but the one in america is made by borla. talking to jason at performance nissan, he says that the nismo he is selling is the one made in japan. it is true that the nismo has smaller tips, about stock size, but the sound is almost identical.

Re: Hawaii: Possible exhaust groupbuy

the stillen sounds real good, and yes, i think it does have the best gain. it's from the design of the "x-pipe" making it a "true" dual exhaust, unlike the fujitsubo and nismo which have only a y-pipe, thereby making more resistance (less backflow) from the collector.

i wouldn't say the best tips, i don't really care for 'em. i haven't seen the pictures of the "two tips" they now have available. stillen is a good company, and that's a great price for an exhaust......it's kind of unusual sayin' as to how they have earned the nickname "stealin'" but you didn't hear that from me

those are good prices for shipping though. maybe i should ask the other companies if they also use DHL. if this groupbuy does go through though, we need a corporate address to ship to. gotta ask infiniti, but i don't want to too soon. we'll see.

Re: Hawaii: Possible exhaust groupbuy

Called stillen.com today. They unfortunately will not do a group buy.

Called Hypersports in Honolulu after that. They can get the exhaust system for the same price with same shipping price as you would ordering it directly or on the website. No competitive price advantage if you buy from Hypersports but also no dealer markup (which is good I guess).
