Any good body shops

Okay it's spring break and I'm relaxing at the beach. On my way back to my car I see this biatch in a Jetta pull out from next to me and hit the side of my front right bumper. She tried to drive away, but my friend jumped in front of her car. (Such a loyal friend it made me cry.....either that or what happened to my G). So anyways to make a long story short, does anybody know any good body shops in the SOCAL area. I went to the one my dealer told me to go to but they want 400 bucks when it is only a scraped bumper. Please help. Thank you.

I'm a pretty laid back person but this kinda crap pisses me off so much. Do you ever think about how ironic it is that a "good" person actually gets punished and the "bad" person walks away scott free? "Good" person stops and leaves a note on a parked car that they crashed into. "Bad" person drives away. "Good" person has to pay (punished) higher insurance and/or out of pocket to get the victims car fixed. "Bad" person drives away with no reprocussions.

Sorry, not trying to hijack your thread but this just really gets me pissed.

Re: Any good body shops

You stopped her. Did you get her insurance information? If so, you shouldn't care how much is costs.. you want it fixed. In a bumper bang-up like that, that usually means a new bumper cover and paint and labor. Your quote sounds either very cheap for a new bumper, or a bit on the high side if they're just repainting your existing one.

Whether you get a new bumper or repair the existing one, the whole thing needs to be painted, or it'll be extremely obvious where the paint was touched up, and you won't be happy.

What part of SoCal? It's a rather big place.. are we talking LA or SD regions or someplace outside those boundaries?

Re: Any good body shops

If you are in the San Fernando Valley I would highly recommend GTA Autobody. They were fast (I received my car in November 2002 {one of the first people to get it} and got into an accident 2 weeks later [not my fault]). Anyways, some guy reversed into my side in a parkinglot and had to get the passenger-side fender replaced along with one of my rims. Although they did bill the other guy's insurance a steep price (~$3500), my car looked brand new when they were done. Excellent work and service as my family has been going to them for the past 10 years. Their website is at http://www.gtaautobody.com. Hope this helps you...

I live in Santa Monica which is in LA. And yes this women was a bitch. She actually tried to deny hitting my car when I saw her and told her that I saw her. She said , "are you sure it wasn't someone else, or maybe it was you and your trying to get me to pay for it." I wanted to punch her. Also, the fact that she was driving a S55 AMG didn't help with my sympathetic side. I HATE THIS WOMAN.

Sorry. It was the daughter in the Jetta and it was her mom who was there who was questioning me and being a true bitch.... I guess it runs in their family.

Re: Any good body shops

I had a small dent on rear quarter and large dimple on the back bumper. Went to Golden Hammer off Olympic (near 405) and was very happy with the work. Highly recommend them.
