So I was stuck in PHX yesterday...
I got up 7AM to hop on the plane from SNA (Orange County) @ 11:05AM to get to SFO. Upon arrival at SFO, I had to wait another 3 hours to get on the connecting flight to PHX.
Anyways, so I arrived at PHX around 5:35PM, had to hop on one of those Airport shuttle to go from Terminal 4 to Terminal 2, and finally checked in at the counter around 6:00PM. So I arrived at my gate around 6:30PM after the security check point and what not.... and I was still waiting for the connecting flight to Page which is schedule to depart at 7:20PM. At around 6:50PM, it was starting to rain... a huge thunderstorm. It was literally pouring... to the point that I could see the airport pavement slowly flooding. At around 7:10PM, a guy from Great Lake Aviation (the Airline) came upon us and informed that the flight to Page was officially cancelled.
At this point, I was almost tempted to just rent a car and start drivng to Page... which is about 4 hours in distance (about 250 miles or so), but I was already beat to death from all the connecting flights and not enough sleep from previous night. So, I decided to stay at a hotel/motel nearby the Airport. Here, I was really surprised at this one place's rate. I thought I was going to get raped by most of the hotel's ridiculous reason of "next to a major international airport", but this one, Extended Stay, on E. Elwood St crossing from University Dr, only charged my $54.95 for the night. What's more surprising was that the room actually included a sink, a microwave, a coffee maker, a few dishes, a toaster, and last but not least, a refrigerator.
So yeah, I had a good night sleep, and now I'm back home in Page. However, it still feels like a long a$$ trip for such a short distance where I can just drive from OC in about 8~9 hours.
Anyways, thanks for reading. I guess I just had to vent about the flight cancellation.
