To MODs: WTF??
To MODs: WTF??
I posted a Bay Area pocket bike for sale, instead of moving it, why was it deleted? Was it so hard to move it to Off Topic or to Classifieds?? I'm a G35 owner too, and just want to see if any other SF Bay Area G owners are interested.
Re: To MODs: WTF??
Unfortunately, we cannot move posts to Classifieds- those must be created be individual users. I didn't move your post, but if I'd seen it I probably would have. The Policies and Guidelines post explicitly states:

In reply to:

OWNER SELLING ITEMS NOT FOR RETAIL
G35 Driver welcomes members to sell items that they currently own and have possession of in the Classifieds forum provided that the item(s) is not a resale item. Please do not post a "for sale" message of any type on any forum other than the Classifieds. Moderators will remove for sale posts appearing on other forums than the Classifieds.

You are more than welcome to post it in Classifieds. You asked, "Was it so hard to move it to Off Topic or to Classifieds??" To that, I must simply reply, "Was it so hard to post it in the right place to begin with?". Not trying to sound like a jerk, merely trying to illustrate a point.
This has been brought up in the Coupe forum ad nauseum, but in case you haven't read it there-- any posts that don't belong where they are posted will most likely be deleted. When the board was smaller, it was easier to move posts here and there, but now it's getting somewhat draining to spend all day shuffling. The following policy is posted in the Coupe and Policy forums, and perhaps should be here: any posts in an inappropriate forum will be deleted. It's easier for 10,000 users to make one choice correctly, than for 20 mods to clean up 10,000 little errors.
Last but not least, the sheer volume of posts that we move/delete/edit every day plecludes us from notifying every member of said move/deletion/edit, as well. If we did that, we'd spend most of our time writing PMs and none of it getting the job done. Those who have their posts deleted should, we hope, step back and think, "Now why would that happen?" and then make a more correct decision when attempting again.
Thanks,
G

Re: To MODs: WTF??
Thanks for the explaination GeoBau.
Please don't get offend or take it personal with what I'm going to say. IMO, you guys as MODs should loosen up. I'm a G35c owner and I go on other auto forums and was allowed to post my sale on their Northern California section. The reason I posted here is because I'm only trying to sell and benefit Northern California group for something I think alot of people would be interested in buying. I would understand if my post got deleted if I was trying to sell a blender or some power puff girl items. Anyways, just needed to voice my concern. Thanks.

Re: To MODs: WTF??
We did ligten up a while ago, and were then told, "This is getting out of hand" by the very people who asked for us to lighten up. It took about three weeks. It's a catch-22. If we let one person do it, then suddenly everyone starts posting their ebay auctions and crap for sale, unfortunately. You can throw something in your sig like "Cali people- check Classifieds for my bike for sale" or something, as it doesn't generate needless posts. Thanks,
G

Re: To MODs: WTF??
good explanation geobau..
I hope 1gig you understand where we are coming from and it was my fault that I didn't notify you that I have moved ur post..
neways..a pocket bike is pretty much like selling a blender or wat not..
If it is car related as something for the g35..den thats a different story...and a group buy..we would probably allow it..but other than tat..it will have to be posted in the classifed section..

If you read my post, I did indicate group buy. Anyways, let's just leave it as is.
Plus, thanks dyenboy for criticizing my bikes similiar to blenders.
Thanks again for the explaination GeoBau.
