Question Failed Smog in San Diego?

So i moved my 04 G coupe to SD from Hawaii and now it wont pass smog.

anyone got a good guess why? really dont wanna go through the diagnoses, guess-timation then guess repair until it does...

any here rolled the dice with the de natured alcohol?

or any ideas what to do next?

Mods? Any codes pop up? If your stock, then the cats might be bad.

nope no performance mods, but i did buy the G used in hawaii... i was thinking it wasn't a CA approve CAT though....

sheit i was hoping ppl had a smog hook up or something but it's seems like even that would be rediculously $

I would think the cats are the same, call a dealership to verify. More then likely you just need new ones. If you don't plan on changing out the exhaust then I wouldn't pay the extra $200-300 to pass.

What he said ^^^ . I've paid the extra money since it would cost me a quite bit to have all the stock gear put back on and then removed though.

Later,
