VDC Relay Box

Hey from California,

My 2004 Infiniti G35 (VQ35DE) has been making that odd buzzing noise from near the brake master cylinder if I brake less than 10 MPH. It sounds like that usual noise that we all hear from the start after the VDC box makes after a check start. I figured like the VDC Relay box to which I disconnected and the problem immediately stopped, but the ABS,VDC, and SLIP are on now for obvious reasons. So my question is, not wanting to spend a rigorous amount of money to figure the problem, can I just leave it disconnected and not worry about it or should I just go insane listening to the insanity that is that annoying buzzing noise?

Thanks in advance.

You can but your traction control anf ABS is disabled, it's being triggered for a reason so I would get it up on jack stands ASAP and inspect the wheel sensors. If they all look ok and there's no obvious signs of damage then you might need to bleed the brakes.

The only reason I say this is because the lights (ABS, VDC, and SLIP) never went on until I disconnected it from the VDC box near the brake cylinder. After I did that, the brakes worked completely normal I just lost ABS, VDC, and SLIP, which in California never matters due to our extremely dry weather (Maybe I'm wrong). I looked into the area and found that the brakes were alright, however the pads were hitting around 35%. Although, my wheel sensors (The light that goes on when the tire pressure is low) randomly goes on due to being old.

Also you might just be low on brake fluid so check the reservoir.

Sounds good, I'll stop by the auto parts store and see if they have any.

So, I found out my G35's brakes are a little worn down and the brake fluid is just slightly below the maximum. Should I keep the abs plug in or is it alright to just leave it out? Is there any long term repercussions for leaving it out?

Potentially increased stopping distance due to no ABS, it becomes a major problem in the rain.

Same with the disabled traction control and the rain, higher potential for fishtailing and wrecking the vehicle.

As always with safety systems I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE you to fix the problem instead of just ignoring it. $125 for a diagnostic at Nissan .is much cheaper than totaling your car or killing someone due to having safety controls turned off.
