I just recently received my license plates from the DMV. I really hate placing it in the front....the back I don't mind. My question.....should we even need to place it in the front? I know that there are a bunch of Lexus SC400's, Supra's, maybe even a Civic that don't have them up front. I never placed them on the front of my Corolla...until my sister got ticketed at a local mall while she was shopping. That's when I placed mine on the front. Now, having this new car...which attracts so much attention...should I put it on the front? I have the attachments.....just wanted to get an opinion. On or off?

 

I never had front plates on any of my car since 1985. Got a ticket once, but that was because they stoped me for speeding. I put it on just to get the tick signed off. I definitely not going to drill two holes on the G front bumper. If I got a ticket my plan was just to use double sided tape to get the tick. sign off. If your G already been drilled for the two mounting screws, then if you were worried about getting ticket, maybe you should put it on. I personally will take my chances, after all for almost 20 yrs only got one tick for no front plate is not bad at all.

Leave it off Sherwin. The downside is that no front license plate tickets are not a $10 fix-it ticket anymore.

do what i do....ive gotten away with it plenty times.
i just keep the front plate in the car.
and when i park, i just put it on my dash.
i told this to my friend recently.
she got pulled over, and then she quickly put it on her dash.
she didnt get a ticket.
i did this many years with mah GS400.
so far it seems to work fine....and if u dont have the the drilled holes, unlike me (stupid Cerritos Infiniti) u can just tell them that u went in and they wanted to charge u $100 for the installation of the front plate. then just say that u have the brackets coming soon, as soon as u have a little spare money to spend....maybe u will get off

Keep the front plate and the mounting bracket in the trunk. If you get stopped, just show the officer the plate and bracket and tell him or her the dealer has to install as the G35 does not come from the factory front plate ready....what more can I say.

has there been any word on the prototype license plate holder that Yuishi was attempting to make? I was looking at past post but there has not been any furthur news on the license plate holder.

Growler...that's what I do too...forgot to mention that. I have mine mounted on the bracket and in my trunk...the officer really can't argue when you say, "I have to make an appointment to have the dealership install it cause they have to drill holes in my front bumper..."

i just take it off.
ive got the holes(riverside and cerritos infiniti have the same owner and policies unfortunately).
the white pluggy things look ugly on blue but oh well.
the reason i want a full body kit and not a lip kit is because i want to get rid of those holes

In San Diego, red light cameras are being turned back on after almost two years. I asked a friend that is a SDPD about front plates and his comment was that they haven't been enforcing it too much since the cameras have been off but will be fully enforced now that they're going back on.
I too am waiting to hear more about that new front plate mount from Yuchi.

 

DUDE ! WHAT ?! I can't believe this. I knew the cameras were coming back on...but are they allowed to give "fix-it" tickets if you don't have a front plate...? Will you let me know if you find anything out...? And do you know if the cameras at the intersection are on all the time, or if it's only when the light nears turning red ?
