Just came back from CA:)

I just came back from Laguna Woods and Oakland, CA. I must say that I really enjoyed my 3 day visit to the Laguna Woods area. The weather was GREAT and eye candy was unbelieveable too. Was there on business but had the chance to visit the Irvine Centre.
Saw a whole lot of "G"s and a few 350s too. This was my second visit to California and if I were to move to any other State, I have to say that CA will be on the top of the list. I have not been to Hawaii yet but I am pretty sure it will be up there.

Re: Just came back from CA:)

you actually like OAKLAND???...CA is cool but everything here cost more, i dont understand that oregon have no sale's tax and NV have no state tax, they doing all right, but here in CA we are going borke, keep on rising any and every tax you can think of...glad that you enjoy your stay here tho.

btw ...where are you from?...s.w.

California sucks. Born in raised and glad to be gone! It's a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't ever live there again. The people are atrocious, prices on everything are f-in ridiculous and majority of the women that remain are stuck up ugly ones. Baywatch ... more like Beastwatch. Vegas is where it's at! I hope Califonia falls off of the continental U.S. after the next big earthquake! GOOD RIDANCE!!!

Oh, on a side note, the weather is nice there, and that is about it.

Re: Just came back from CA:)

My visit was very nice, especially the weather and mountains compared to Florida.
Didn't talk to any of the women much so I don't know if they have their noses in the air all the time, but I think that is everywhere and a reflection on how money oriented our society has become. Also looks like the Plastic Surgeons in CA do very well.
Did notice the prices and the cost of living seems higher than in Florida, where BTW we do not have a State Income Tax, yet.
Damn, long way to fly though.

Re: Just came back from CA:)

It all depends in what part of Cali you live in and how much money you got...lol I mean I'm not rich and all, but probably would if I lived somewhere else other then So. Cali... I live right near Malibu on the coast so my view is gorgeous and the ladies are nice... Sure their are big chicks but Nevada has all the skanky a$$ cigarette drugged out crack ladies.. Well that's all I ran into. Over here some chicks are and tend to be stuck up but oh well I love playing hard to get =)

Nevada and Oregon was a dissaster.. Never going there again.. Sure it's cheap but the people to me are just strange... Seems no one likes to party other then in Vegas.. which is still wouldn't live because of the Fawken Heat!!! Man no wonder the whole town looks like rednecks.. cuz they got 100+ degree weather so fawk that I'd rather stay in this 70 to 80 degree weather right on the coast and live my life.. Over here it isn' t that bad most likey cuz in my little neighborhood homes run in the low 600 thou's up to 4.6 Mil... depending on where you live... We got lucky and bought this house a long time ago when it was in the low 500 k's...lol Now if you go to LA or San Francisco that's a whole other story.. Too many people... Too many tourists... It might be expensive but oh well... That's the price you pay to live in the best part in the country... =)

I just got back from Hawaii a few weeks ago and I have to say that makes California look like a rat hole... well certain parts... The beaches were gorgeous, the people were nice, friendly, some guys were big and the ladies weren't that great... not as good as some Cali ladies get... but I'm sure other's manage with the view. Even the dark clouds were nice... but no way in hell I could afford it.. It's bad enough I spent 5 grand a week, but I guess that's the price you pay to live in that type of place... BUT I guess that's the price you pay to just have a taste of paradise... Man when I retire... Hawaii here I come... =)

It's simple: CA is loaded with screaming liberals who love to **** all of the tax money away, including money they don't even have to spend!

Whaddaya mean it isn't that bad?!? $600k is a lot of freakin money for a basic house! Do you know what the national median home price is? $163k! So real estate here is almost 4 times more costly than the national average. That's bad. It's even more expensive than NY, and NY is expensive. On Long Island, I could buy a very nice waterfront home for $600k. You can't touch waterfront here for less than $1.5-2.0 million.

Re: Just came back from CA:)

I and my Ivory Coupe went up to San Francisco last weekend (from Orange county). My baby is a wonderful car on the street of SF up and down the hill. I get lost about an hour from San Jose to SF looking for my friend house. Totally I saw about 5 coupes in the same dark gray color, nothing else. I waved a DG coupe on the freeway 5 and he waved back. I drove up to 100mile/hr to pass cars. Once on 101, I got up to 80 and a police car behind me but he speed up and pass me. Thanks god ........I cleaned up the bugs died in front of the G , on the way up there, but no bug died on the way home. No rock chip at all. Valet parking in a hotel for $36.0 a day. I got food poisoning at a Dimsum in Chinatown so that I was naked in my coupe after I threw up ... I was afraid the police will got me and miss understanding..... when he saw me just wear only a black jacket........(ps: it's at night). All my friends at work laughed when I told them the ending story of my trip....
Have a nice day,

Re: Just came back from CA:)

Cali Eddie: I appreciate your insight into Nevada, however, I have to go ahead an disagree with your narrow minded dissertation. Malibu is not full of bikini clad hotties, nor is it clean. If you think Vegas is dirty, take a long look at the sewer you call an ocean. Try taking a dip in there, if you don't mind coming out with a few extra fingers.

Who cares how hot it is in Las Vegas when in So Cal. all of the women are man hating lesbos? I'm not the type to play the mind game or the accompanying $ game associated with 99.9% of So. Cal "women". I'd rather spend the cash on hookers in at a brothel in Pahrump, NV. (You are going to pay one way or another, why not up front?)

Sure if you are rich and married, So. Cal. life is mediocre at best. For the single bachelor, just getting started in life, So Cal. is an overpriced playground plagued with socially inept, insincere cowards, destined for a lonely, miserable life.

The so-called weirdos you encountered in Las Vegas were not destitute mullet-ridden locals, but pretentious, self-involved So. Cal swine, infesting the city as tourists, pissing away their hard earned dollars. I could buy three or four quality homes in premier neighborhoods in Las Vegas for the price of one dank hovle in So. Cal.

Regardless of anyones opinion, Southern California is destined for economic failure. Count your blessings with the money you have made in the disgustingly bloated real estate market. Like all good things, this my friend, will come to an end.

(This is not meant as a personal attack on you, just my 2 cents on why I have never looked back at leaving the place after 27 years)
Edited by gdupg35 on 07/11/03 02:51 AM.

Think of it as an investment. House prices are always rising here in Los Angeles. We bought our Condo for 175K now in 2003 they are worth 450k even with the economy in [censored] now prices are still rising. Unlike Hicktown USA where the land value actully deprieates (spell check)
