HAWAII LABOR DAY CRUISE/BBQ
HAWAII LABOR DAY CRUISE/BBQ
Anyone up for a picnic on the Sunday of the Labor day weekend?
Was thinking of going on a cruise, then ending it with a BBQ. Maybe starting the cruise at 11am and ending around 5pm.

Yup...its in the making and were still trying to figure out the details. Im thinking of probably making it at Kapolei Boat Harbor. Still need to talk with the people from Infiniti and Nissan to get us some sponsors for food and what not. Details are sketchy yet, but definitely Labor day weekend. Any suggestions??
I have a few in mind...though rather extravagant!!

A Labor Day cruise might be nice. But if I may add a suggestion, might be good to draw out a map on the route. I did not go on the cruise, but from what I heard, some got lost. Anyhow, a map of the route would be good and maybe with rough times on where we will hit what check points. Then if anyone gets lost or needs to join us later, they will have a rough idea of where we will be. Also, set up a leader so that everyone can follow each other as well as maybe exchange our cell numbers.
Just my $0.02.
Let us know whats the plan as time goes on.

Another suggestion is to use the FRS radios. Tell everyone to bring them (and extras if they have - put it in all posts and flyers). It really helps in a large cruise. The last cruise I was on had 16 S2000's, 6 NSX's and 3 RSX's. The radios were extremely handy in keeping the whole pack together. Also, the chat's on the radios while driving were entertaining too, just ask krazyduece.

Yup, I have to say, that was the best cruise I went on. We kept the whole pack together (all 25 cars) almost all the way. Going thru Waikiki it looked like we were having a parade!!! Great suggestion Rick!!

Who has nextel? we can use the two-way.
Where do you want to start the cruise off, in town or somewhere like Mililani townsquare, and from there go around the island to the end destination for the BBQ.

Gotta stop and think...Labor day weekend!!! Crowded beaches, parks, etc.!! If we move in on a place for a bbq...gotta be someplace to be likely less crowded. Maybe Kualoa park? Just a thought cause they have a huge parking area. If we all can, lets get this planned out soon cause flyers will be posted soon and Infiniti management wants to help out. That way I can give them the break down, time, date, place to meet. Infiniti looks like they really want to help out so lets make this an even bigger event.

Depending on how many people will show up for the BBQ. I can try and reserve the Lanai/BBQ area at Imperial Plaza. It includes the BBQ grills, kitchen, jacuzzi, pool, and sauna. Parking is limited to street parking.

Where is the imperial plaza? Im thinking of the one in Vegas. hehe...well wrong state and city! I have a cool place by my pad...in Pearl City, pool jacuzzi, fireplace, covered too...lots of street parking within a secured area...security and what not. Just have to put in a reservation for it.

Any more suggestions on starting points and bbq areas? After all we have to work with Infiniti on this one. They are hopefully gonna supply us with the grinds. I have a few suggestions in mind for start points.
Kapolei theaters area, then cruise thru the North shore side via Wahiawa, break at Dole, next stop at Haleiwa beach park, then on to bbq at Kualoa park...then whomever wants to get ET times at the tracks. We meet at 9:30a...head out no later than 11a. Hopefully, we finish bbqing around 5ish if anyone wants to head to the tracks.
