Re: HAWAII LABOR DAY CRUISE/BBQ

Yikes, got to get up early on a weekend? How's about meeting at Moanalua Gardens at 11am, leave by noon, drive over the H3 to Kualoa Park, have lunch, then for those that want to continue, head around the north shore, end up at Gentry park.

Re: Floor Mats

Not to get off the subject but I have an extra set of premium plush floor mats (black) I ordered from Auto Anything. Will sell it for $100.00. It's brand new still in the box. Anyone interested?

Personally I think that most of us live either in downtown or in Mililani side. To meet at Kualoa might be a little bit of a stretch I think. Moanalua Gardens sounds good, do they have enough room to accomodate all of us though? A little more central meeting spot will secure a better attendence I believe. Just my thoughts.

I have to agree with XLR8SN. I think a town meeting area would be a little better. If I can remember correctly, Moanalua Gardens has a pretty decent size parking lot. Jus' my $.02

Re: Labor Day Cruise

Moanalua Gardens would be nice. Hopefully my GF will be bringing her new Daytona Blue 350Z to the meet as well. Think I will give her my rims after she gets the Nismo S-Tune suspension in there.

BBQ??? FOOD??? Where?? Someone mentioned that since it will be a Labor Day Weekend and a Sunday to boot, the parks will be packed. Though, I doubt that people will really want to pack food in their cars on a long cruise. Imagine, need to pack ice, the cooler, the grill, charcoal, and all the other $@%#. The lunch break might be something to think about, either that or everyone will be going to a nearby Zippy's.

The better planned these events are, the more likely it assures future events and meetings. Organization, informative USEFUL information, and smoothness of the events will be important in keeping these meetings alive and growing.

Re: Labor Day Cruise

If Infiniti/Nissan isn't going to sponsor the event why don't we just set the destinations and have a cruise around the island. And after the cruise is over we can meet somewhere and from there everyone can chip in and we'll buy the food, drinks etc. That way no one has to lug around anything in their trunks. This should simplify everything.

Re: Labor Day Cruise

Another option would be to find a stop along the route that has a food court or restaurant that everyone can go to.IMHO, if we're going to do a BBQ it's probably a good idea that we set camp and not driving around, if we're doing a "cruise" we're riding. Jus' my $.02

You only live once.........jus' do it!!!

Re: Labor Day Cruise

We can do both if we find a place that already has a grill, that way no one has to lug any food in their trunks. The only thing you would have to bring is your own drinks.

But, I guess we should take a pole on who wants to BBQ or who wants to have a cruise. If we BBQ we have to get to a park early to get parking or go later in the afternoon and find a place that is not as populated. Or we can just have a cruise and get food at a food court or go to the Giovani shrimp wagon in Kahuku.

Re: Labor Day Cruise

I agree with both thoughts from mdnt and krazydeuce. If we are going to do a cruise, to stop at a central location that can accomodate all of us to eat would be better. It might be better to have an all out BBQ another time or choose one or the other. It will be inconveinient to carry all the food, and I would worry about spoilage, rather difficult to have to break out of a cruise caravan and having to speed around looking for the nearest bushes or bathroom (depending where we are). LOL.
Been there, done that,...not good.

Food court? Possible. Giovani Shrimp Wagon? Cool,...anybody allegic to seafood? Shellfish? Face, it, there is really no way that we will be able to accomodate everyone. However, looking at the posts and thoughts, I would suggest a little of both. Go for the cruise, then look for an area that there are food vendors (various would be good for choices) nearby a large open park or something. Then everyone can grab something to eat and drink and meet at the nearby park.

BTW, dont forget that the thoughts and planning needs to be worked out soon. This is already the end of July, and August 31st will be here really fast. Assuming that for a good turn out, maybe about 3 weeks of posting solid, definite plans, routes, check points, time,..etc... would be suggested. That would leave everyone only about 2 weeks of planning.

Just my thoughts.
