the package from DMV only contains ONE license plate for my G. just wondering how many did you get? 1 or 2? Does that mean we won't be cited for not having a front license plate? thanks,

You should have gotten 2 Plates. That means either they forgot to put 2 in or Some Stole one en route to you. Either way contact the DMV and tell them. California is one of those **** states that enforces No Front Plates because of all the Red Light Ticket Cameras.........

It usually comes in two's you should go to your local DMV and tell them of the error. Not that I would put the front license plate but if I ever do get cited for it I already have it in hand.

yeah.. i just got mine last month.. it's definitely two.. you should handle this with DMV asap.. just weird feelin knowin that someone else cud have your plate out there.. jus hope it was some mixup er sumtin..

 

I checked the envelope again, and it has a line says: if you get 2 plates, please put one at the front and one at the back. if you get only 1, please put it at the back.. um.. this is really weird~~~~ i was hoping i am not the only one that received only 1 plates...

carefully check the plate again. Sometime it get stuck and it seem like only one. That is what happen to me. I first open it and wtf? Only one? So i carefully start looking at it closely and there it was, two plate. I didn't even know why i even care for the second one cause hell no i won't put it on my front plate.

Until i see the vette, ferrari, porsche, etc strictly enforce, then i will do it.

CA = 2 plates. Always comes with two plates. Better call that DMV #. Some one might have your other plate and be using it to commit bank robberies, drive by's, or run red lights or other crimes. LOL =)

Just to let you know, I think they changed the law back in Jan 01 or 02, because of the red light camera's. If you get pulled over with out a front plate and I heard that it's now a $100 fine + fix it. I remember before with it was just a $10 fine + fix it. Not sure if it still is or not, but $100 is pretty steep for not using front plates.

A co-worker of mine bought his civic back in 2001 and he got only one plate as well. Back then, we all thought he was crazy and didn't pay too much attention~~~

I was hoping that the fact is DMV starts to give out 1 plate and we won't have to worry about the citation anymore..

You are lucky that you have that letter stating the one licence plate goes in the back, having a licence plate frame in front ruins the pretty front bumper,[img]/w3timages/icons/smile.gif[/img]
Maybe DMV is starting to economize.

 

Ok.. just called DMV and was told to take back my license plate. DMV should give me a new pair and keep my old plate.. but i like the my original number so much~~~~ :'(

well.. i guess this is self protection. I am just SOOOO afraid that DMV gave some CONmen my other license plate and they would use it for something bad (like run someone over)...
