Red face Am I crazy? 18's vs 19's.

Im not sure If I am losing it or I am bored and looking for an inexpensive way to do something to my car. Anyhow I have had an itch lately to trade up my oem 19's for some oem 18's. The reason why is because I think the 19's already look like 18's because of their design and I actually like the 18's design better. Am I on crack or is this not that bad of an idea?? I appreciate the opinions of the masses on the board here and would like you all to share your thoughts...

No you're not on crack. I agree with you 100%. The 18's look much better and actually bigger, cleaner and have a more agressive look. It fills up your wheel well much better and all you would need is some spacers to bring them out flushed to the fenders and you're done.

I like both, had both ... for performance 18 is better, for looks 19 is better ... if I do get aftermarket rims I will be going with wide 18s.

One more bonus, 18" tires are a lot easier to find and much cheaper. Also, less rotational mass, and less unsprung weight.

I have had the OEM 18's, bought the OEM 19's and after going FI back down to aftermarket 18's mainly because of performance, tire selection and price. I did love the look of the 19's but my vote is 18's all the way.

I don't quite see how the 19s look like the 18s? Are you talking about the finish of the wheel?

To each his own. A lot of people like the 18s better than the 19s, but for me, it was the 19s that made the final decision for me on getting an 05 rather than an 04. That and the upgraded interior.

I like my 19" better, but am considering making the move to 18" due to more tire options.

The stock 18"s look good if your car is slammed and has a BBK like one of the members of this forum. The stock 19" look great while in motion IMO.

i kind of like the 19's when still. But i do agree with the 18's and BBK. My BBK barley fits under the 18's

They look the same in spoke size due to the 19's having a lil lip whereas the 18's spokes extend all the way out to the edge of the wheel.

My car is lowered on Eibachs, but no bbk though. There is however some F/I going on under the hood. I am looking to do a trade with someone local to me since I dont have any other wheels to put on the car.
