I am dying to get some set of wheels. Currently I have stock 18". When it's time for a new set of tires, I wanna change to 19" and get new wheels in simply because there are more options to choose from 19" than 18". My bf isn't much into cars then I do. And you would notice by reading my signature that I am not really into moding cars seriously like most of you guys- just some minor bodywork is all I have done now. I hate driving a car that is becomming so common out on the streets now. I mean come on! Even you are not into mod, most ppl change out the wheels!!! He just thinks I became crazy about my car since I have been hovering around this forum. My G is mine and I can do whatever I want with it. If I really wanted to, I will become a problem gf and get some hot looking nice wheels anyway, but I don't want to upset my bf. That is the main thing. You see I am not crazy, but he is IMO How should I approach this?

Oh, and I want to ask for some recommendations...What wheels look good on DG? I am eliminating gold because gold and silver combination is ugly imo. Thanks in advance.

+1. It's your money...isn't it? The only guy I can see having a problem with this is if your BF is way older than you and is just playing the father role right now. To his credit though, he's probably right about you becoming a bit of nut with your car since you started lurking around this forum. I know I did.

Hmmm . . . I am not one to talk. However, all of the my mods are wasteful expenses . . . But I can afford to do so, as such. Mods are a financial foe. Saving your hard earned monies for the future is always the best bet . . . Unless you are financially secure. Modding a car is a money pit. Especially, if you are making payments on the said car.

Okay, with that having been said . . . Mods your brains out. We all create our own needs.

you have to tell him,not us
first,find a good time to talk to him about this.it could be when you just did him a favor,or when he showing his love and care,or right after sex.
then tell him that "this is my car,i'm the one who drive it and it's my money,i work hard all the time,i feel like i deserve it."
"rims makes car look good and car makes me look good,you want your GF to look good..don't you?"
find something similar from him like he spent money on a computer system,bike or vacation strip ect..."see,i don't mind you spent money on (fill in blank) and i'm sure you wouldn't mind if i spend on these wheels"
if none of those lines works then go ahead upset him

Why can't I ever meet a girl that thinks like this. The girls I hook up with always b1tch about how much attention and $$$ I spend on my car. Just once I would love to have a gf that I can actually enjoy modding cars with. Just get the rims girl.

 

I say just get them. Its what you want. I am in the same situation. My fiance didnt want me to hook up my car but its who I am. Its something that I have to do.
