Not right now

A new boy friend is not an option for me. Why can't I have good looking G with Hot set of wheels and current bf? Anyway, it doesn't look like I'm getting the wheels like I wanted any time soon. I am getting braces which is 4k and top of that, I am getting a pilot license which is another 4k. I am not poor, but I don't have endless dispensable funding like some of you. The wheels gotta wait. That's it for now-unless I see some hot wheels with unbreakable deal.

Number one--he is not your Husband. He is a guy you are dating--whether you love him or not--its just a guy you are dating. Even if you are engaged--you are still NOT married. At this point in your life--you don't ask for permission or approval. Just handle your business and he will see them soon enough--that is,----- when you are ready as you mentioned you have other expenses.

I think he is probably insecure about you rollin' in a nicer car than his.

What does he drive, a minivan

hahah i totally agree. maybe he thinks that rims will bring you more attention from other guys and that's something he's insecure about?

either way, you should be able to spend your money on what makes you happy

I say fix up the grill first, then pilots license, and if you have $$ left over, get the mods.

And you would notice by reading my signature that I am not really into moding cars seriously like most of you guys- just some minor bodywork is all I have done now. I hate driving a car that is becomming so common out on the streets now. I mean come on! Even you are not into mod, most ppl change out the wheels!!! He just thinks I became crazy about my car since I have been hovering around this forum. My G is mine and I can do whatever I want with it. If I really wanted to, I will become a problem gf and get some hot looking nice wheels anyway, but I don't want to upset my bf. That is the main thing. You see I am not crazy, but he is IMO How should I approach this?

Oh, and I want to ask for some recommendations...What wheels look good on DG? I am eliminating gold because gold and silver combination is ugly imo. Thanks in advance.
as far as choosing wheels, best thing i can tell ya is go to various wheel companies and check out what they sell.... i'll post a list at the end that may help....

as for the S.O. (significant other) issue.... my advice...be yourself. plenty of guys will view it as:

1) she is spending way too much money on the car....normally those roles are reversed gender wise, but its cool to see a fem do it as well.

2) she is getting to far into car stuff, and will be around OTHER guys... the alpha male ordeal.

if the relationship is worth lasting, it shouldnt be decided over something as petty as material things.

how to approach it?

stand your ground. bottom line, for you, even if you arent into it...its YOUR CAR YOUR HOBBY. him saying no is like telling you, you cant use X brand of fem products when THAT time comes around.

i sure wouldnt like a female telling me i can or can NOT wear a certain style of boxer briefs.

and what will 10 years down the road be like later in life if you two last? you cant go out with this friend or that friend?

maybe you wont be able to leave the house on certain days?

or....

well you get the picture.

if its your money, your car, do da dam*thang!

try not to give him a guilt trip on stuff he has bought.... it will just go back and forth on..."well you bought this back then, and then you bought that"

plain straight and simple be yourself and have the medium of being able to make yourself happy.
