If it's that black, greasy stuff, try cleaning it with strong tar & bug remover, that's safe for paint and clearcoat. Hope it helps.

I have the SAME problem, ill post some pics. later, i got lazy and went to the carwash, and the next day my wheels were ruined . Im gonna call them and explain the problem soon. I need to have my wheels re-done because of curb rash, but these stains are buggin me worse than the curb rash!

i talked to the dealership today (i actually got it from BMW of fairfax..NOT an infiniti dealership). anyhow, they will work on it and see if they can get it off (altho i doubt it..seems like it's ruined). i also told the sales manager that it could be the tire shine or the wheel cleaning stuff they use. he said he will check on that and call me back. he knows about acid based wash and said they dont use that to clean...so we'll c!

but yeah, my rim has some curb rashes but i really dont care much about it.. however, the stain is KILLING me. its not black spots..its more brownish/liquid like.. stains..and pretty sure its INTO the wheels now..u cant rub it or anything.

if it's not cleanable, then i'll talk to the dealership and see what we can do about that. i doubt they would want to buy me new rims since its a used car, but i was hoping maybe to get the rims redone, replished, something like that..or even paint it black. i read it in another thread from a while ago, some guy had similar problem and redo his wheels and painted them all into black. looked really good. i think it would look great on IP!! we'll c.

anyone knows a really good wheel shop here in Northern VA area? prob will need it soon.. :/

The best one I know is "The Ole Wheel Shop" in MD. They are located a few minutes away from BWI airport. They do great work at reasonable prices. They'll paint your rims whatever color you choose.

****ty, i bought my used 04 Infinity with the same problem. However, my ride only has these "black" stains on only one rim. After i buy the tires, this is my next investment....

Sorry to hear about your new ride. But if that BMW dealership is at fault they should fix it!

yeah, i still dont know what it is. im waiting to hear back from them on friday. if its not fixed (which im pretty sure there is no way they can clean it), then i'll bring up the idea of repolish and paint the wheels. i just checked with my buddy's shop and he can do the painting as well. so we'll c. BMW better be paying for my wheels to be fix/painted.
i'll keep u guys posted and see what the dealership says.

btw, now im actually leaning towards painting my wheels, what color would you guys recommend? im thinking either Black or Gold (like the volks racing wheels). what do uall think?

anyone had experience with painted wheels? any suggestions?

After reading all this, I am actually afraid of picking up my car from the dealer today. You see, I paid 100.00 bucks to get my car exterior detail by Passport Infiniti... and they told me over the phone that they were going to put something on my wheels (as part of the detailing package)...

take it to a place that specializes in detailing or detail it yourself next time

i do what i can with mine but every once in a while i get it professionally done by a car detailing place that has a great repuation

no dealer details for me! i wouldnt even let them wash my car!
