How about 20in Rims?

Whats the biggest rim size that can fit on a 04 coupe? Basically I want to know if a 20in rim will fit on my car and if so will it cause any problems. Does anybody have 20s on their car? Please let me know if it drives perfectly normal or if you have any problems. Thanks.

yes, probably 25% of the board is on 20s. The largest most people go with is a 20x9.5 up front, and a 20x10.5 out back, depending on the offset. You can go as wide as a 285 tire in the rear, and a few have gone even wider although it isnt that common. You may have to have the rear fenders rolled or cut so you dont rub, that can easily be done at a body shop for about $30-$40. Lowering is recommended, but not absolutely necessary, its up to what you like. If you lower, you can either use springs or coilovers, depending on your budget. You might need additional components to correct your camber, it depends on your set up. Check the Wheels and Suspension forum, and use the search feature- there is a ton of information out there.

dont 20's slow you down just a tad too? more friction on the road. 19's will do just fine, cant argue with the engineers on that.

I just put 20in. rims on my car and the fit fine. Granted it wont turn as good and since they are bigger there will be more weight for the wheel to turn.

Is there a reason so many people go 20x8.5f/20x10r? Why not just go 20x9 in the front? Is there an advantage to having a 1.5" stagger as opposed to a 1" stagger?
