Staining on 18" OEM gun metal wheels, any advise?

I just bought my 2003 g35 coupe last night and today I wash and waxed it and i noticed when cleaning the wheels that what looked like brake dust was stuck on them. There is black speckled stains on most of the spokes and in between them. They look aweful. Im just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what you did about it.

These are the 18" gun metal OEM rims.

You did that on your own. The wheel cleaner you are using has too much acid in it, causing it to burn away the finish on your rims.

No, It wasnt me. I use a teflon wheel clearner that doesnt dmg the clear coat. i have used it on my FX45 many times. The spots were there before i washed the rims. I was just posting to see if anyone knows how to fix this or if it can be fixed =/

Something has eaten away the clear coat all the way down to the black paint. Check out some of the pictures in the thread below. If yours look like those you might have to refinish your rims.

The only solution is refinishing, but it isnt too cheap either. What the acid does to the rim is irreversible.
