Rims peeling?

I was cleaning my rims today and I noticed there is peeling near the rubber of the tire. It seems like the stock rims have a plastic coat covering them. Anyone know anything about these? Is this peeling going to go down the whole rim and make it look ugly? Is it covered under warranty.......I've never scraped my rims, but maybe the dealership will say otherwise......bastards.

What do you use to clean your wheels? Do you use the Eagle One A2Z All Wheel & Tire Cleaner? If you use that and you use it correctly, it is awesome. But if you use that product improperly, you pay dearly for it. So tell me....Do you use Eagle One A2Z??

No I just use water and a soft cloth.......it takes a while, but I'm not in a hurry. This peeling looks like it was scraped by something.....does anyone know what this plastic layer is?

I don't think its just a plastic layer you're talking about. That could be the clearcoat peeling off which is NOT good.. And if you only use water to wash your wheels they may be faulty. Take it to the dealer and complain, tell them you never used any sort of chemical products on them.
