Coupe 18" for my Sedan

I apologize if this has already been asked and answered, but has anyone put the coupe 18" wheels on their sedan? Have pics? What is the size tire? I saw a sedan last week with 22545zr18s and it looked hot. Where is the best place to buy the stock coupe 18 rims? (Other than the dealer$$). Please help. I have the 17" premium 5 spokes chromed, and it looks good, but after seeing the sedan last week with the 18s, I figure I've got to upgrade. It just sets it off so much more. Please help!

Re: Coupe 18" for my Sedan

I am looking to sell my 18" wheels and tires to a serious perspective buyer. I know they are quite expensive from the dealer, but I am not going to charge dealer price for them lol. But keep in mind I am not going to give them away for cheap either. They are brand new only 200 miles on them at the moment. Serious inquiries only.............

What do you plan to do with the stock wheels? I live just down state from you, and I'd be curious to see a pic of those wheels and if you're going to sell them.

BTW - Which dealer did you use? Lisle had a Twilight Blue back in August/September and it looked nice. I ended up getting black on black, but with all the salt on the ground it's white on black!

Re: Coupe 18" for my Sedan

I did a calculation on sizing and I'm not sure the 18" stock rims and tires are a good fit.
tire Total
215/55R17 668.3
225/45R18 659.7
235/45R18 668.7
245/35R18 628.7
245/45R18 677.7
Can someone check my calculations to see if they are correct?

EdRed:

Check out this site for a quick tire size calculator:

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Looks like the 235/45-18 is an exact fit.

Re: Coupe 18" for my Sedan

yep that's what my calculations showed....less than .5 mm in diameter difference. Not sure if putting the coupes 18" with the stock tires of 225/45R18 and 245/45R18 would do. When I do a search for tires in 235/45R18 though I find two.

Re: Coupe 18" for my Sedan

I appreciate the info. Not sure I understand it all, actually. I just need to know if the stock 18" tires will fit the sedan. I did buy mine in Lisle, I bought the last twilight blue in Chicago. Bought it in October. I'd consider selling my wheels and tires if interested. Mine are chromed.

Re: Coupe 18" for my Sedan

What we are talking about is the overall diameter of the wheel and tire combined. The speedometer and odometer are both calibrated to the stock diameter and if you change that diameter you will throw off the speedometer and odometer readings. Not by much mind you but by some....if you are just wondering if the 18" will fit then yes they will but due to the tire configuration of having a wider back tire it's unknown what that would do. If you just got the rims and put the same size tires on them it might work out better. Just my opinion.

How about if I just put the 18" coupe rims on 4 tires that are the SAME size, 225 45 ZR 18s. Will this work OK?
