My stock rears are bald...Im about to buy new tires but dont have the cash for ALL 4...If I purchase just rears, is it ok to buy something other then the Michelin Pilot Sports?

Yes, you could do this but why would you want to?
Michelins are great tires, anything else is like trading
down. If you call the TireRack they'll tell you not to
mix brands......be carefull!

you want to swap either both of the fronts or both of the backs. Or all of em at the same time...

I know the Michelins are great...However, to be honest they are terrible in the rain and cold...Not to mention its not the quietest of tires...I know those are some of the downfalls of a high performance tire, but living in the NorthEast we have plenty of bad weather driving..

I've heard GREAT reviews about the new ALL season Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position...They have a 40,000 mile tread life warranty and they are supposedly awesome in the rain and give up little performance on dry surfaces...Best part is they can be had for $184 compared to $265 for the pilot sports...And a UTQG of 400 AA A...

I plan on changing the rear tires and then taking care of the fronts in about a month...Is it too dangerous to ride on the Michelins in the front and the Bridgestones in the back?

i believe all sizes (atleast all) are on back order. imo going to any bridgestone is an upgrade over pilot sports. but i can't tell the difference.

if you go from one brand to another(just the back set) and then buy the same set for the front that's straight.

I have the coupe 18's on my sedan and i did the same thing with the 960AS's on the back and the stock pilots on the front. The only problem i had was the VDC kept kicking in when i didnt want it to (going on the on-ramp at 60) Through canyon driving, the VDC went on, it didnt go on before and my speed was 30 mph more. If you're only planning on running the pilots up front for a month then you will be fine. The Bridgestone 960 is a great tire and i think you'll be nothing but happy with it.
