"Pin" on the front discs for 2004 coupes

While trying to mount some new wheels for my 2004 coupe, I noticed that there is this "pin" (as described in the manual) on the front discs that prevented me from installing a set of wheels that supposedly would fit 2003 G35 coupes. Is this "pin" only present on 2004 coupes? I guess if that's the case I'm screwed.
Thanks in advance for any help on this matter.

You should be able to take that pin out. Its just there to prevent the stock rear rims from being mounted on the front.

Yes, they are just to let the dealer know when you have had your first brake job (at least that was what I was told).

Re: "Pin" on the front discs for 2004 coupes
My 2003 Coupe has them. I believe it's described in the manual. My Nismo wheels fit fine with the pins still left in. I could have removed them if I wanted to. From eyeballing the rear Nismos, I don't believe they would fit in the front due to the Smaller offset. The pins are there as a safety feature only. They can be removed with no ill effects, if you need to.

Re: "Pin" on the front discs for 2004 coupes
The pin is on my 2003 coupe as well. In the service manual it says the following about the pin:

"Front brake disc rotor and front wheel
Front and rear wheel size for this model differs, therefore a special pin has been installed on the front brake disc rotor. To accommodate this pin a hole has been provided on the front wheel (the rear wheel does not have this hole.) and in some case the rear wheel is being mistakenly installed on the front."
