What brakes are these? (pic)

This is a shot from the 10/25 SoCal meet. What are these brakes? Are they the stock caliper painted red? I was kicking around the idea of doing that. OK, yeah I should have got the 6MT then I would have a big painted Brembo calipers. I really like the contrast of having colored calipers in side the wheel. Would it be super cheesy to paint the stock ones? I prefer red over gold in any case.

Look to be oem painted calipers. You can get special brake caliper piant in colors like reb yellow, and black and then you too can have BREMBOS! lol

Tinman,
What type of rotors are those?

I once saw red calipers, but they had "Infiniti" (or "Infinity") written on them. Does anyone know if those are special brakes, or if it was just painted. It looked very nice...

Zorro, thanks for the compliment. Those were mine! Here is the pic again. Those are paper stickers I bought from a guy that was selling them here on the forum ($15). Well worth it. SOme say it looks ricey, but I think it looks kinda sporty and finessed.

Mine are painted too, all 4.

Looks good but I would have kept the lug nuts stock color.

GurgenPB, that's exactly what I saw, but it was on a coupe. It looks awesome, but I am not sure about the lug nuts. Do you know if these stickers can be bought on the net, what kind of paint did you use on your calipers and where did you get it?

Re: What brakes are these? (pic)

when I had my SS Camaro, I took the calipers apart and had them powder coated red. It's more of a PITA though, because you have to take the seals and pistons out to be safe. With paint, just make sure you clean real well. Some people say to use brake cleaner before painting them, but when I used brake cleaner, it caused "fisheyes"..The best thing to do is use simple green and a toothbrush...can't say it enough, clean , clean, and clean before painting.

Re: What brakes are these? (pic)

yah.. once you start painting this and that too much, you're gonna end up with some of those wind/air deflectors on your wipers ..... and then to add some "finesse" paint them red too.

not that there's anything wrong with that if you like it though
