new tires?

Hey guy,
New to this site...Just bought 2005 g35 coupe 6mt yesterday. ... anyways the tires are preety gone on it and i was wondering what you guys recommended. It has the 19" wheels. I am looking for a comfortable ride with not much road noise and i want them to last awhile. Also i was wondering about sizes, it comes stock with 225/40/19 front and 245/40/19 rear but it looks like there are alot more choices for the size 225/"35"/19. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

I also noticed that the finish on the gunmetal wheels appears to be stained black in a few areas. Ive tried many different polishing compounds but can't seem to fix it. Anybody else have this problem and is there anything i can do besides having the wheels repainted? Could it be that brake dust actually stained the wheels?

dont go with 225/35/19...those are way too small...get 245/35/19s or 245/40/19s...good luck

I just posted a quick review of the Toyo Proxes T1R.

Of note, the fronts have even less rim protection than the OEM Bridgestones had. There is absolutely no margin of error for any contact with curbs -- parallel parkers beware.

First thing I noticed was how much nicer these ride than the Bridgestones. Major improvement in ride quality. They are both quieter and softer riding -- something I was after as this car is a daily driver, not a track car. I have read complaints that the sidewalls are too soft on these -- and while there is a noticeable difference compared to the Bridgestones, it's hardly enough to make me concerned. My favorite morning highway on ramp is just as much fun as always. My guess is that hard track driving would probably suffer, but these sure seem competent enough for daily driving.

The only complaint so far is that these tires follow the micro-gooves in the cement highways more than I'd like -- of course, not an issue on pavement. Certainly not a deal breaker.

Has not rained yet, but is supposed to later in the week. I'll post a reply with an opinion about rain driving later.

Ya i read that review earlier and have been leaning toward these tires after all the good reviews ive been reading about them. Are there any other tires that compare in comfort and in price ($200 range)?
