Wheel experts quick offset Q.

I am looking at new wheels and found a used set of Volks i'm interested in. Haven't seen wheels in person but rears are 9.5 w/ 29 offset. Can anyone tell me their best guess at the "lip" size ? I know it won't be huge but I prefer a more conservative lip ,,,,,,,, me is old, heh, heh.

lip sizes cannot be calculated or estimated from the wheel width and offset alone..

different wheels with the same width/offset would yield different sized lips

btw, a +29 on a 9.5" wheel = bad for the coupe (as far as looks go, imo)

A +29 offset on a 9.5 wide wheel will stick out about half an inch further in the front and a little more than a half inch for the rear compared to the OE wheels. Did you drop it too much to need the fenders rolled?

i was barely happy with my +24 on my 9.5/10.5 wheels. maybe i'm just more picky...i want mine to stick out a tad bit more..

imo, offsets for the coupe should not be any higher than +25 as far as my opinion goes on the "aggressive" look.

papiloco, what sze tires you have?

i have a 10.5" with a +24 in the rear, am lowered on z h techs, and only shaved my fenders because of my 285s. if i went 275s i would have been fine.

Thanks for the help. I think I will be OK as the 29 offset in rear looks fine in picsof coupe currently runnng these rims. As an "old fart" I'm more into a less radical lip and this appears to be 2-3 ' in rear so fine by me.

If anyone else has comments please post 'em up .......t hese wheels going on my'06 black coupe.

Also, thanks to Hero for a quick reply to my PM. Most appreciated.

I'm running a 9.5 +30 with a 285/35/19 in the rear, and while is not ideal, and certainly not flushed, it doesn't look too bad, and its pretty close to rubbing already. More aggressive offsets will likely require a roll in the rear which some people are uncomfortable doing. Heres some pics showing you what it looks like.

And I haven't even gotten an alignment yet! With that I think i'll have 1-2mm of clearance, but I'm gonna roll and get some spacers, and then I'll be back to 1-2mm of clearance
